In August, Warrior Madeleine selected hiking and nature as her peer led topic to research and explore for the next five-weeks. She dedicated five Tuesday mornings with Life Coach Sam planning a nature & hiking program for her friends at the Life Shop. While planning Madeleine decided what locations she wanted to visit and then planned out a schedule of activities for each visit. The Life Shop added Madeleine’s hiking & nature club program to their Thursday morning schedule. Her friends would have the option to choose to participate in her hiking & nature activity or a different activity. It was great fun for everyone who participated. The locations visited included Brookfield woods, Graue Mill in Oak Brook, Trailside nature trails, and the Little Red School in Willow Springs. Madeleine also planned the Life Shop’s August outing to Millennium Park. She was very organized with a variety of activities that included a color walk, forest preserve Eco-Explorer scavenger hunt, and a picture schedule of locations to visit when at Millennium Park. Warriors that chose to participate in Madeleine’s activity gave her high marks for being a very good planner, good direction giver, and well prepared! Check out the pictures of her awesome activity! The one’s at Graue Mill were shot by Warrior Charlie O’Connor.
