FITNESS

The fitness portion of this session of Workout Warriors focused on circuit training -a combination of aerobic training and muscle strengthening. We start each 35 minute workout session with a dynamic warm up of arm circles, jumping jacks, running in place and other activities that get our blood flowing. Exercises included using the battle rope, sit to stands on the bench, step ups, weighted ball slams, and the treadmill! 

MUSCLES

Our bodies have over 600 muscles and one of their important jobs is to give us power and strength! Warriors learned all about the muscular system and why it’s important to exercise and be active. We put together a puzzle of our muscles and learned what activities use different muscles, built a functional model arm out of cardboard (bones) and balloons (muscles), and finally created our own robotic hand that demonstrated how muscles in our hand make our fingers move.
