Two Aprils ago we made a promise at our Night for Opportunities Gala to strive toward a goal of finding gainful and meaningful employment opportunities for the 10 Life Shop Warriors. At the time, a mere 3 of those 10 had gainful employment. We weren't exactly certain then how we would get to now, but through the development of our own social enterprises, Knockout Pickles and the Warrior Catering Company, we are well on our way. Today we made some great strides in the right direction when we handed out paychecks to our first Warrior employees! Meet our very first proudly paid Warrior employees: Matt Cox and Erik Cox from the Warrior Catering Team and Sonya Taylor, along with Patrick O'Rourke of Knockout Pickles (not pictured). If you're counting at home, Patrick and Sonya are both Life Shop Warriors and that brings us to 5 of 10 with paid employment! Still much work to go, but a great moment to share!
