On Friday, April 17th we received word from our friends at the Coleman Foundation that would be extending a dollar for dollar match to our fundraising efforts. Please see the below guidelines and consider giving at a level that will have your impact doubled!
DONATE $150 TO $500 AND $150 IS MATCHED
DONATE $500 TO $1250 AND $500 IS MATCHED
DONATE $1250 OR MORE AND $1250 IS MATCHED
The net proceeds from the gala account for nearly 15% of our total annual fundraising.
The revenue from our suspended programs accounts for just under 20% of our annual budget.
75 families count on OK programs & support.
45 employees count on OK for mission work.
The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted Opportunity Knocks. The reach extends into all of our programs, events, and operations. We are heeding all of the recommendations from our public health agencies and suspending nearly all of our programs and traditional fundraising activities.
However, we are not planning to disconnect with our Warriors or make damaging cuts to our team or our site. That commitment comes with significant costs and is underscored by a substantial loss of revenue. That commitment is the purpose of our establishment of the Warrior Response Fund.
We have tightened our budget and made significant cuts. We are aggressively pursuing any and all varieties of qualifying response and relief funding. Paramount to all of our efforts in gathering support is reaching out to our community. That is the catalyst for this fund and the purpose of our outreach.
We will preserve our connections with Warriors and families. We will also keep our team in place, avoiding layoffs and cuts to benefits. We will also preserve our site
We will respond to our Warrior families as they encounter new struggles and needs through this pandemic. We will support our staff and Warriors by deploying our resources so that they can connect, work and engage remotely.
We will develop new and innovative virtual programming. We will develop new activities that allow us to safely reinvent our mission during these times. We will exercise patience and sensibility while keeping our focus on health and safety as we get back to business.

The Warrior Response Fund is led by the voice of our Warriors. Please check out this series of videos that aims to let the Warriors speak for themselves about the challenge of the current times and why OK means so much to them now and in the future.
Based on the guidance from the CDC and with an abundance of caution for the health and safey of our Warriors, Staff, Families and Community we suspended our programs on March 13. We were also forced to cancel the gala.
With our isolation, we have found an opportunity to reflect on how important the connection we share thru OK is to us. Listen here to hear the voice of Warriors explain what they are going through.
We will do our best to lean into our awesome auction donations and host a virtual auction that will begin on Friday, April 17th at noon and conclude on Monday, April 20th at 9:00 pm.
